Hi,

My neighbor found out I was interested in Genealogy and brought over a stack of papers on her family's genealogy research.  Most of the tree is filled in, but there is one ancestor that is a big question mark. 

 

It's the second wife of a man who lived in texas during the mid 1900s.  Her last name is Hernandez.  I've searched some local cemetery records and county registers, but I can't find any record of her.  I have found records of the husband, but no marriage certificate after wife #1. 

 

The only evidence I've found so far is someone who arrived in New York at about the same time.  This doesn't seem like a credible lead.

 

I think she is most likely a Mexican who moved to Texas without documentation.  Just not sure how to proceed.  Can you provide some tips or articles that might give me some guidance on moving forward?
